An explosion shook and torched all those party-goers in a dried swimming pool where a "Color Fun Powder Party" was held in a humid Saturday night ( June 27). The pool is part of
the facilities in
a famous Aqua Theme Park located at the suburb of Taipei. Although all the rescue teams in the area were mobilized
immediately
, the narrow drive way to the entrance
and the long walkway inside the park
held up the traffic of ambulance and delayed the evacuation of
those
injured. It took around four hours to finally clean up the site and
transferred
all the injured to the ER of hospitals
all
over Taipei and New Taipei City. Of all the attendees ( reportedly, more than 4,000 ticket were sold)
i
n the night, a total of 496 ( 2 passed away already) injured were transferred to those hospitals nearby. Most of them are under 25 years old and have thermal injury over 60% to 80%. All the medical staff even those on leave were called in to support the medical care required by injured. They were all worn out in last four days., just too many patients in such short period. Our hearts be with them and their family. Other than praying for them, Coreleader has decided to
jointly
donate totaling 6,000 pcs of Algi-white 10x10 cm (alginate non-woven dressing) to any hospital that is in need of
wound
dressings. So far two teaching hospital have filed their request and delivery was made right away. Alginate is a bio material that helps healing
via promotion of fibroblast granulation
as well as holds the moisture on the wound bed. Furthermore, we donate 100 packs of HEMO-fiber for acute burn treatment. It is a chitosan based non-woven dressing that can cover the burns to hold the moisture after it turns into gel and perform the fast hemostasis after eschar debridement on top of the anti-microbial function.
