Hemo-
fiber (HEMO-Bandage) is a gauze made of the yarn twisted by the chitosan fiber. Instead of impregnated, the chitosan fiber incorporates chitosan in it. The cation can instantly crosslink the red blood cell to form clots.
The incorporation of chitosan eliminates the concerns over the risk of distal thrombosis and tissue fibrosis. It is a product of safety, not to mention its superiority efficacy which is resulted from its structure that allows blood penetrate easier and hence, react with more red blood cells.
HEMO is a registered trade name for HEMO items. The product is named HEMO-bandage in US but HEMO-fiber in EU community although the pliable gauze is the same.
